Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. Microblading has been around for a long time, but in the last 2 years it has exploded on the social media scene. The lure of having perfect brows from the moment I got out of bed was too tempting to resist. During my recent trip to Orange county CA, I decided to take the plunge and get microbladed.

It took me 8 months to research and make up my mind on if I wanted this procedure done. I made the decision to do it, when a friend of mine started posting beautiful pictures of her microblading work on her IG page @thebladylady, I reached out to her and she helped sweep away any residual apprehensions I still had. We booked my appointment, and I could not wait!

Once at my appointment, she made me feel super comfortable and explained the whole process to me. She had me lay on the bed, and she proceeded to measure my brows. She took her time to make sure they were symmetrical. A tip she told me is that, you can go in to your appointment with your brows filled in the shape you like, so your microblader can get an idea of what you want.

After she was done sketching, we both went over her work to make sure, I was happy with the shape and look of my brows. I had her make a few adjustments, And they were perfect after a few tweaks

. Next comes the first numbing cream. She left it one for approximately 20 ish minutes . Once I started feeling numb it was time to start.

With manual blade she started the process. I wanted to add some footage that we took here, but it wont let me. So what I will do a post on youtube of the process and link it to my tutorials and how to page for y'all to see. I'm not going to lie it hurt on a scale of 1-10 it was like a 4, it is tolerable pain. it got even easier at the second pass. Between passes she applied a different numbing cream, this one entered my blood stream and I could no longer feel a thing. The actual procedure was quick maybe 30 minutes, afterwards she gave me my care instructions ( do not get them wet for 48hrs, do not put makeup in your brows, after the first 2 days I could clean them with anti bacterial soap.) The next 5 days brought on a lot of peeling and healing.

I know it's gross but here is an example of the peeling. You are suppose to let the skin fall naturally, I did not do that, I pulled off the peeling skin myself. Please do not do what I did, pulling off the skin before it's ready to, will cause you to remove the ink before it's set. I have some gaps in my brows because I was hard headed. Expect your brows to peel and be really dry as you heal.

These are my brows after about 3 weeks of healing time. I love them! because I peeled off the skin myself i have a few areas that are faded, and I still have to fill those in but it takes me about a min to do my bows, it use to take me no less than 10 minutes. Overall I really like the look and the finished product. It is recommended to go back after 30 days to get a touch up. I hope this helps you make a decision on wether or not this is for you. I will have more updates coming soon.
